Frequently asked questions
A few helpful answers before your visit.
A gynecologist evaluates and treats menstrual problems, pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding, vaginal symptoms, hormonal concerns, contraception needs, and conditions such as PCOS, endometriosis, and uterine fibroids.
Gynecology focuses on reproductive health outside of pregnancy. Obstetrics focuses on care during pregnancy, childbirth, and the period following birth. Our practice offers both types of care.
Arrange an evaluation if periods become unusually heavy, prolonged, painful, irregular, or different from your normal pattern. An appointment can help identify what may be contributing and which next steps are appropriate.
In a typical low-risk pregnancy, visits may be scheduled about every four weeks early on, every two weeks later in pregnancy, and weekly near the due date. Your team will personalize this schedule.
Contact an OB/GYN after a positive pregnancy test to discuss when your first visit should be. Many initial prenatal appointments take place around eight weeks, though timing varies depending on your needs.
Medical visits and records are handled under applicable privacy laws. If you have questions about confidentiality or communications, our office can explain its policies before your appointment.
We work with many major insurance plans, including those listed above. Please call our office to verify your specific plan and benefits before your visit.
